Give Back Box
[20122012]
“I have no difficulty holding both logic and feeling at the same time and that does not diminish my powers; it expands them!”
-President Barbie
Did you know, Anderson’s Candy Shop is currently making history?! That’s right! This is the first time in our 104 years of existence, that we are woman owned and run.
How exciting is that!
Each year we try to pair our box design with a theme. Last year it was the 150th anniversary of our hometown! This year the theme we chose was Barbie.
Not only is it timely, but the movie quote on the box articulates our favorite type of leadership. The kind that uses both head and heart. And that is what Tracy Anderson and Katie Anderson-Tedder hope to carry on in their tenure leading Anderson's Candy Shop.
The back of each box explains the simple mission of each box - to deliver delicious holiday chocolates while raising money and awareness for our local nonprofit health clinic.
As a family business, we want to help those who need assistance with medical health care and who cannot otherwise afford it. This box helps do that.
25% of each sale goes directly to the Family Health Partnership Clinic! That is more than $5 per box!
The clinic provides a wide spectrum of healthcare to uninsured residents of McHenry County. A committed group of volunteer physicians, dentists and other medical specialists as well as a legion of volunteers from the community, care for patients who have nowhere else to go.
This year's assortment includes milk chocolate Salted Caramels, dark chocolate Pudding Creams (chocolate buttercream), and four of Anderson's signature candy cane sprinkle Marshmallows in milk chocolate!
Each Give Back Box is filled with about a half pound of these famous handmade gourmet chocolates.
Last year alone, the FHPC helped more than 1,700 people get medical care and dispensed nearly $2 million dollars worth of medication.

Since our Give Back Box campaigns began in 2012, we have been able to donate more than $50,000 to the Family Health Partnership Clinic as a result of chocolate sales!
