We take fresh maraschino cherries from Michigan and coat them in our own cordial recipe before we hand dip each one in chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That means our cherries are VERY fresh and sometimes that means you will receive them when they are still in the cordial-ing phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we coat each cherry in our homemade fondant, that fondant hardens and then the whole thing is dipped in chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a period of time, the fondant dissolves and blends with he natural juices in the cherries to create a delicious cordial center around the fruit. This process can take up to a month to fully happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If your cherries are a bit early in that process you may see or taste a bit of that white fondant when you bite into your cherry as it is still on it’s way to becoming 100% cordial. There may also be variation of this progression within the same box. As some cherries get a thicker coat of fondant or start out more “wet” than others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the nature of scratch-made cherry cordials.
