When we lost our old website in 2025 it presented both challenges and opportunity.
Opportunities included having a site that didn’t “break” and go down constantly. Also a site that was more SEO friendly and offered new features like an easy way to duplicate orders. This new site also has a much more user-friendly back end that allows us to better modify your orders or give you real-time tech support!
Challenges included losing our customer order histories and also the loss of our product catalouge. (Think photos, descriptions, product data).
That means to bring your our chocolates online, we have had to recreate pretty much everything that appeared on the old AndersonsCandyShop.com. And that website was built and added to bit by bit over the course of decades!
Re-launching our new site has required a LOT of work. We have need to take new photos of each product, write new product descriptions, and literaly program each product and data tag into the new site.
Because we did not want to be “down” during the 2025 winter holiday season, we did lauch this new site last October with an incomplete catalouge and we have been working to add to it as we can ever since.
So why is it taking so long? Why isn’t it all loaded yet?
Because we are doing all of this work ourselves and it takes time. We are working on the website in between our “day jobs” of candymaking and our “third shifts” taking care of our families at home.
Paying a tech company simply is not in our budget. And, we know that some of our content is so nuanced that it would be hard to hand over to someone not familiar with it.
Our goal is to have the site fully loaded by October 2026 and finished as far as product content goes!
